We have a small and committed team. Our directors have been with Constantine Group for very long periods. This mirrors our long-term approach to our investments in businesses.
Passionate & professional
The two senior Executive Directors (Nigel Prescot and Nigel Constantine) are also significant shareholders in the business. The three Non-Executive Directors (Alan McWalter, Gilbert Chalk and Robin Williams) are fully independent and own no shares.
This combination of ownership and independence ensures a consistently passionate but professional approach to everything we do.

Alan McWalter
Non-Executive Chairman
Alan is a Non Executive Director of Cattles plc, Trafficmaster plc, Alphameric plc and the Haygarth Group Ltd. He was formerly Chairman of Nationwide Autocentres and a Director of Marks & Spencer, Woolworths and Comet Group. Alan joined the Board in 1994.
Nigel Constantine
Finance and Investment Director
Nigel joined the company in 1981. A Chartered Accountant by profession, he was successively Managing Director of the group’s property companies in the USA and the UK, Group Finance Director and, from 1996 to 2008, Group Chief Executive.
Gilbert Chalk
Non-Executive Director
Gilbert has had a career in Investment Banking and Private Equity. He is Chairman of the Baring English Growth Fund and is an adviser to Nova Capital Management and is Chairman of an AIM listed company. He is an ex-Council member of the BVCA (British Venture Capital Association). Gilbert joined the board of Constantine in 2004.
Nigel Prescot
Chief Executive
Nigel was appointed Chief Executive in 2008, having previously been responsible for the group’s development and for managing the trading businesses. He was a Director of an insurance company and an underwriter before joining the company in 1999.
Dominic Akers-Douglas
Commercial Director
Dominic joined the company in 2008 to help accelerate the group’s development. Prior to this, he worked in banking for Morgan Stanley and ABN-AMRO.
Robin Williams
Non-Executive Director
Robin is a successful entrepreneur. He is Chairman of Killby & Gayford Group Ltd and a Non-executive Director of Cagney plc and London Linen Supply Ltd. He was formerly a Director of Hepworth plc and Chief Executive of Britton Group plc. Robin joined the board of Constantine in 2004.
