Simtex International – Hazardous Goods
Simtex International specialises in the shipment of Class 1 Dangerous Goods, on behalf of companies, governments and government agencies across the globe. It also provides logistics solutions for all classes of Hazardous Goods, including medical and chemical. The company employs 15 people and has a turnover of £9 million.
Within one of Constantine’s logistics companies was a very successful but small division specialising in the transport of Hazardous Goods. The management saw the potential to grow this sector and, with Constantine Group’s support, looked for a complementary business to merge with. In September 2008, Simtex International was acquired and the two businesses have since been combined under the Simtex brand.
Constantine Group used its expertise to assist in the negotiations and supported this acquisition financially, recognising that the two businesses had a common ethos but different customers and a different approach. The combined expertise has immediately propelled this company into a market-leading position.
