Constantine Limited – Art
Constantine Ltd specialises in the co-ordination, packing and shipping of art and exhibitions, principally for national museums and public art galleries throughout the world. The company employs 90 people and has a turnover of £16 million.
With offices in London and Glasgow, Constantine Ltd has been involved in the co-ordination and shipping of some of the best known exhibitions to take place in the UK, including the Moctezuma (2009) and Terracotta Army (2008) exhibitions at the British Museum and the Tutankhamen (2008) exhibition at the O2 centre.
Constantine Ltd also provides collection management services, specialist art storage facilities and international re-location services.
This business used to be a collection of freight forwarding operations, of which fine art shipping was a small part. The management team, supported by Constantine Group, realised there was little opportunity to become a market leader as a diversified operation but great potential to become No. 1 in the UK and in the top 5 worldwide in the co-ordination and shipping of art for museums and leading collectors.
The management team set about re-focussing the business (in the process re-branding it to Constantine Limited) and recruiting and training staff in all areas, so that the company could guarantee the highest standards of service to its customers. Constantine Group supported this by encouraging the company to invest in its staff, and by acquiring and investing in state-of-the-art, museum-quality storage facilities and trucks in London and Glasgow.
This investment in people and resources by Constantine Group in partnership with the management team has propelled Constantine Ltd to the forefront of exhibition co-ordinators and shippers worldwide.
